Registered Acupuncturist and Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner

Karas has been working in the healthcare field for 14 years and as a practicing Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner for 8 years. She earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Western Ontario in Kinesiology. Then went on to earn a 4-year, Master of Science degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine at Pacific College of Health and Science in San Diego, California. She brings extensive clinical experience having done internships at the Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Chengdu, China as well as with the University of California –San Diego Health System at Rady Children’s Hospital and the San Diego Cancer Center.
Karas is board certified in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine with the CTCMPAO in Ontario, as well as with the NCCAOM in the United States. She has done additional training in the techniques of Japanese and Five Element acupuncture as well as Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture. Karas is also certified in the therapies of fire cupping, moxibustion, gua sha, TST – The Steel Technique, Reiki and Therapeutic Touch. Her clinical interests include sports medicine, chronic pain and woman’s health, though she is passionate about getting to the underlying root problem of any concern using a gentle and integrative treatment style.
